- Design commercial and industrial solar PV systems from concept to completion
- Perform site assessments, energy modeling, and feasibility studies
- Create electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with CSA, CEC, and local building codes
- Review structural calculations and coordinate with structural engineers
- Lead engineering projects and mentor junior team members
- Liaise with AHJs, utilities, and inspection authorities
- Optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness
Qualifications
- P.Eng designation in Electrical Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of experience in solar PV design and engineering
- Proficiency with PVSyst, AutoCAD, and Helioscope
- Deep understanding of NEC, CEC, and CSA standards
- Experience with utility-scale or large commercial projects (preferred)
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Knowledge of energy storage systems is a plus
